Effective July 1, 2013, Andreas Joehle was appointed chairman of the management board of Paul Hartmann AG and CEO of the international Hartmann Group. Since the beginning of the year he has been familiarizing himself with the Heidenheim-based health care company as regular board member. Joehle took over the chairmanship of the board from Dr. Rinaldo Riguzzi, who retired. Joehle was born in Berlin in 1961. After his specialist training in various hospital nursing disciplines in Düsseldorf and Duisburg, he joined 3M Deutschland GmbH in 1985 and completed advanced training programs while also working full time. At 3M Europe Joehle held positions with national and international responsibility in various healthcare-related divisions, ultimately as general sales and marketing manager for hospital markets. In 1998, he joined Coloplast A/S as managing director Germany / Austria / Switzerland, and, additionally, later took over the management of the HSC Group in the home care division. While working, he received further training at the INSEAD Business School in Fontainebleau, France, and in Shanghai, China. In 2005, Joehle joined Medtronic International in Switzerland, where he assumed management of the European diabetes division. Under an advanced training program of the Duke University in Durham, NC, U.S., he deepened his management knowledge in emerging markets and global mergers and acquisitions. In 2008, Joehle took over the management of the surgical division at the Swedish Mölnlycke Health Care Group, where he was responsible for its global business until December 31, 2012. During his early months at Hartmann he visited almost all subsidiaries of the Hartmann Group holding face-to-face talks, informing himself on the respective market conditions, and getting to know how the corporate strategy has been implemented locally.
